Language Immersion.

A problem that becomes more and more frequent in high school education (in the Netherlands), is that students take foreign language classes for around 6 years, and when they graduate, still don’t speak the language. This is a missed opportunity in this communication based society. That is why this research looks into different methods to learn and understand foreign languages.
To what extend is VR for beginners an effective learning method of a foreign language?

Research was conducted on multiple high schools. First year high school students were asked to either play the game in VR, on the computer or simply make exercises. It turned out that the results were succesful, the kids could recall 3.1% more french words when using the VR game than children learning simply by making exercises. That while also having more fun!
