Exploring new ways of conversating.
Project:
Shomi.
Shomi is a socially translucent system designed for student houses. Its goal consists of improving the communication experience among the individual taking the shower and the people waiting outside, making it coherent, pleasant and productive. This is achieved through the agency of a connected system composed of three devices. Users are expected to undertake interaction with by pressing or turning. The original communication which consisted in shouting and knocking, which is based on acoustic signals, becomes in this way tangible and visible. Shomi will be implemented in student houses with the aim of assisting them with their daily routines and making the cohabitation peaceful.
